Experience: 8+ Years. Estuary is a real-time data integration platform combining CDC, stream processing, and declarative configuration into a unified system. The Role: Join our Capture or Materialization teams to build high-performance connectors that extract from diverse sources and load reliably into destinations. Success requires low-level systems engineering plus high-level product intuition in a polyglot environment (Go, with Python and Rust where best). What You’ll Do: - Master SaaS & protocol internals (e.g., Salesforce, Stripe, NetSuite) and database protocols, considering rate limits/consistency/edge cases. - Build robust, scalable connectors in Go; contribute to components in Python and Rust. - Architect for reliability: distributed state, exactly-once delivery, backpressure. - Bridge messy external APIs with high-performance core engine needs. - Collaborate & mentor via design docs and reviews. What We're Looking For: 8+ years backend engineering; proficiency in Go and comfort with Python/Rust; systems thinking/detective work; data fluency (checkpointing, schema drift, consistency models); fundamentals (concurrency, memory, networking); clear communication; equivalent practical experience valued. Bonus: Rust, CDC/Kafka/Flink, OSS contributions, startup grit. Why Estuary: competitive comp/equity/benefits, flexible remote work, high-autonomy impact, quarterly offsites.
