Experience: 8+ Years. Build high-performance connectors that extract data from diverse sources and reliably load it into destinations. Blend low-level systems engineering with high-level product intuition in a polyglot environment (Go, plus Python and Rust where appropriate).What You’ll Do:- Master SaaS & Protocol Internals: Research SaaS APIs (Salesforce, Stripe, NetSuite) and database protocols; design robust interactions considering rate limits, consistency, and edge cases- Build Polyglot Integrations: Primary Go connectors; contribute in Python and Rust- Architect for Reliability: Distributed state, exactly-once guarantees, backpressure management- Navigate Technical Entropy: Reconcile messy external APIs with high-performance core engine needs- Collaborate & Mentor: Design docs and code reviews for performance, correctness, and DXWhat We're Looking For:- 8+ years backend engineering at scale; strong in Go with comfort in Python/Rust- Systems thinking and data fluency (checkpointing, schema drift, consistency trade-offs)- Strong concurrency/memory/networking fundamentals (gRPC, TCP/IP); clear communication; practical experience valued over formal degreeBonus Points: Rust experience; CDC/Kafka/Flink background; OSS contributions; startup gritWhy Estuary?
