Build core components of Estuary’s Control and Data Planes to manage distributed state, ensure sub-second latency, and scale for massive throughput. Work in a high-trust team emphasizing technical excellence and clear communication.What You’ll Do:- Architect & Build: High-performance components for data plane (stream processing/transport) and control plane (orchestration/state management)- Optimize for Scale: Profile/optimize primarily Rust systems for latency and resource efficiency- Solve Distributed Problems: Fault tolerance, consensus (e.g., Raft), high-performance networking- Ensure Correctness: Production-grade, highly-tested code; thoughtful code reviews- Collaborate & Mentor: Design docs and reviews to maintain performance, correctness, and great DXWhat We’re Looking For:- 8+ years backend development focused on distributed systems or real-time infra- Systems programming in Rust highly preferred; significant Go or C/C++ with desire to master Rust also great- Experience operating large-scale systems; deep concurrency/memory/networking fundamentals (gRPC, TCP/IP)- Clear communication; practical experience valuedBonus Points: CDC/Kafka/Flink background; OSS contributions; startup gritWhy Estuary?
